Hello,
I hope your Fall semester is going well. I am reaching out from Johns Hopkins University School of Education to share an exciting opportunity for students. This summer, we will be hosting our second six-week PhD preparation program for scholars whose research interests focus on ethnic minority studies. More specifically, this year scholars will focus on Black mental health in clinical and educational contexts. The program, Post-bac/Graduate Research Edification & Preparedness for PhD in Education (PREPPEd), will offer post-graduate scholars and master’s students the opportunity to examine Black mental health related research under the mentorship of a JHU faculty member, take classes to prepare them to pursue a PhD, and build a social network to support them through their PhD journey.
This program will be residential, with students lodging on our Homewood campus in Baltimore for the duration of the program. In addition to housing, students will receive a biweekly stipend for participation in PREPPEd. The program will run from July 1 to August 9, 2024.
