These films are the culmination of an interdisciplinary project between the Center and the African and African Studies minor designed to capture the personal stories and lived experiences of Black entrepreneurs in Baltimore communities that have been subject to long term anti-Black structural inequities. Stories, Context, and Lived Experiences of the Black Entrepreneur is supported through a grant from the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. Each short film is the centerpiece of an open access learning module that includes resources and activities that address the historical, sociological, and economic implications for Black entrepreneurs starting a venture in redlined communities. They will also serve as the foundation of the new interdisciplinary course BA420 Investing in Black and Women Entrepreneurs and the spring special topics course BA495 Applied Angel Investing.
