ALANA (African, Latinx, Asian and Native American) Services is committed to providing support, services, and programs that encourage the success of students of color at Loyola University Maryland. Through intentional programming and a broad spectrum of services, we seek to foster the academic, personal, spiritual, and leadership development of ALANA students.

As a department, ALANA sponsors a variety of programs aimed at enriching and educating members of Loyola's campus community about issues related to diversity, inclusion and cultural awareness.

ALANA Services oversees 8 ALANA Student Organizations that provide the institution with events that seek to celebrate Diversity and Inclusion while building the visibility of students that identify at Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). While ALANA primarily supports students through their racial and ethnic identity development, ALANA also seeks to support students through an intersectional framework because students have various identities, and the support can expand to help many students that would fall under the marginalized population.

A politically nonpartisan organization, American Politics Club celebrates the diversity in ideology that exists on Loyola's campus, for without the dissent of popular positions, there may never be truth. The organization is poised at equipping Loyola students with the tools necessary to navigate the modern political climate, from streamlining one's arguments to making accurate, all-encompassing opinions on such broad matters. Loyola Athletic's 18 teams compete at the NCAA Division I level and in the Patriot League. Games and contests are held in Reitz Arena, Ridley Athletic Complex, the Mangione Pool at the Fitness & Aquatics Center, The Loyola/Johns Hopkins Track & Field Facility and the McClure Tennis Center at Ridley Athletic Complex.

Student Ticket Policy

FREE TICKET: All full-time undergraduate and graduate students are entitled to receive one (1) free general admission ticket to all Loyola Athletics men's and women's soccer, basketball and lacrosse home games. Other home sporting events are free to the general public and do not require tickets. This policy does not apply to Patriot League or NCAA postseason events held at Loyola University Maryland.

HOW: Simply present your Loyola University Maryland ID card at the Loyola Box Office on the day of the event to obtain your free game ticket. To purchase additional tickets, or if you have any questions, please call the Loyola Box Office at (410) 617-1420 or stop by Monday - Friday, 11 AM - 6 PM.

WHERE TO SIT: The "Student Section" for men's basketball home games is located in sections 2, 3 and 4 at Reitz Arena. Please refrain from sitting in other reserved seating sections as another fan may have purchased these tickets. For all other home games, you are welcome to sit in any General Admission seat in Reitz Arena or Ridley Athletic Complex.

The Baltimore Environmental Film Series at Loyola University Maryland was inspired by the great environmentally themed film festivals in the mid-Atlantic including Environmental Film Fest in the Nation's Capital and The Environmental Film Fest at Yale. As a Jesuit Catholic Institution environmental sustainability is important to the mission and values of Loyola University Maryland. This film series merges the art of film with education and advocacy for those affected by the major environmental issues of the time. The film series is one of many events publicizing the interdisciplinary minor in Environmental Studies. The series is supported by many programs and offices across campus and supported by funding from the Loyola College Dean's Office & other sources as noted on the events.
