Mission
The Association for Latin American and Spanish Students' mission is to foster awareness of the Latino Culture through educational programming and outreach to the Loyola community. With the infusion of Jesuit values and Latinx perspectives, ALAS aims to immerse Loyola students and faculty into a community open to cultural awareness and appreciation and proactive involvement in current issues of the Latinx population.

BIPOC Affinity Housing will allow students to maintain a sense of belonging and self-worth while providing the opportunity to reconnect with cultural identities, regroup and process experiences, and be surrounded by a community of support. Residents will be considered for the community based on their self-identification within one of the racial or ethnic groups outlined by the term Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), including but not limited to: African American, Native American, Asian, Hispanic, Latinx, or Hawaiian identities. BIPOC Affinity Housing members would be expected to maintain excellence and integrity throughout campus, cultivate an awareness of social justice issues, express compassion and respect for other cultures, as well as maintain a social orientation that is free of stereotypical and micro-aggressive ideals. This community welcomes all residents who are interested in exploring, celebrating, and affirming the diversity of Black, Indigenous, People of Color and their cultural experiences, within both historical and contemporary contexts.

The Thrive Center for Student Success provides holistic coaching to students as they navigate the complexities of college life. Through mentoring, programming, and outreach, we strive to ensure that each student flourishes at Loyola and beyond.

This Bridge group shares information, resources, and programming connected to the ALANA community and is open to everyone.

The Thrive Center supports cultural and identity-based student organizations at Loyola. These clubs sponsor numerous social events, educational programming, and community building opportunities that promote awareness, leadership, and connection among Loyola students. Membership is open to all students.

The Ethiopian Eritrean Student Association (EESA) at Loyola University Maryland is dedicated to building a strong and inclusive community for all Ethiopian and Eritrean students. Rooted in Loyola’s Jesuit values of inclusion, service, and cura personalis, our organization seeks to celebrate the culture, history, and traditions of Ethiopia and Eritrea, making space for meaningful conversation and cultural exchange. Through cultural events, discussions, and outreach, we aim to create unity, understanding, and pride within the EESA community.

The Middle Eastern and South Asian Student Alliance promotes the awareness, understanding, and appreciation of Middle Eastern and South Asian cultures among Loyola students. Our goal is to foster a sense of community within the student body and increase Middle Eastern and South Asian cultural awareness throughout the Loyola campus, as well as the surrounding Baltimore area. We welcome students of all ethnic backgrounds to participate in our events.
