Title: The Journey of a Black Mathematician

This talk was rescheduled from March.

Abstract: The aim of this talk is two-fold. First we will share the presenter's lifetime of scholarship, leadership, and service in mathematics and higher education. In the second part, we will try to answer the following questions: what is mathematics? What is the utility of mathematics? This talk is open to a large audience including non-mathematicians.

This talk is geared towards students.
