Join us for an exciting day of professional development! The training will be offered in person. The training is appropriate for students, school counselors, school social workers, and school psychologists. You may earn 2.0 NBCC clock hours for the session. The student fee for each session is $10.00. The fee for professionals is $16.00. You will receive your NBCC certificate through email no later than May 3, 2024.

Description: Now more than ever, it is imperative that we address mental health and trauma in our schools and communities. During this training, Dr. Jennifer Betters-Bubon will provide an overview of trauma, how trauma impacts our students and illustrate practical strategies to support students at school-wide, small group, and individual levels. During this interactive session, participants will learn about evidence based and research informed interventions for students who have experienced trauma (e.g., Bounce Back, CBITS) and have mental health needs (e.g., Trails to Wellness, SAIG groups, CICO, etc) and will consider strategies that help all students succeed. Leave with new ideas for creating effective, trauma informed multi-tiered systems of support.

As a result of this training, participants:
a. Understand trauma and impact of trauma
b. Learn strategies to support students and staff experiencing trauma across Tiers 1, 2 and 3
c. Assess trauma specific interventions
d. Conduct trauma-informed focused action planning
