Welcome to the First-Year Feature!
The First-Year Feature is our bi-weekly newsletter created by first-years for first-years! Every other week, we will provide updates about what we are doing in SGA, athletics, events, and other "happenings" at Loyola. Feel free to reach out to any of our representatives at any time with comments, questions, and concerns! Click on the "First-Year Feature" banner to be taken to our class website.
Quick Information
With finals coming up, it is extremely important that you take care of yourself! Remember to get enough sleep, eat healthy, and drink enough water so that you have plenty of energy to do well on exams! Good luck on finals and have an amazing Winter Break!

Upcoming Events
Here is a short list of upcoming events.
Break Extension Requests Due: The Office of Student Life will be accepting break extension requests until Thursday, December 8th, 2022 at 11:59 PM.
24/7 Quiet Hours: 24-hour quiet hours begin on Friday, December 9th at 11:00 pm and continue throughout finals.
No warnings will be given for quiet hour violations, and a $50 fine will be assessed. All policies are still in effect–any violations will be referred to the student conduct process and may result in the student(s) being asked to leave the building due to the disruption to the community.ÔÇ»
Final Exam Period: The final exam period begins on Wednesday, December 14th at 9am and ends Thursday, December 22nd at 12pm.
If you are unsure of when your exams are, refer to the final exam schedule. Do keep in mind that not all classes will have formal exams. Ask your instructors if you are uncertain about the structures of your exams.
Last Day to Vacate Resident Halls: Thursday, Dec. 22nd, 2022 at 2PM is the deadline to vacate residence halls. Residents must vacate 24 hours after their last exam or 2PM on December 22nd; whichever is first.
Residents will be charged $100 for every hour they are present after closing! No entry will be permitted once card access is deactivated starting at 2:00 pm on December 22.ÔÇ»
Return to Campus: Residents are permitted to return any time after noon on Sunday, January 15, 2023. ÔÇ»If you arrive on campus before noon, you will not have access to your living space, unless you have have been granted prior aproval.ÔÇ»
The RA Duty phone will be active after 12:00 PM (noon) on Sunday, January 15, should you have difficulties getting back into your room or if issues are discovered upon your return.
