1. The January Lunch and Learn is all about helping commuter students and students with off-campus obligations connect to Loyola and take full advantage of Messina. The Lunch and Learn will be January 28th at 12:30pm in Fernandez 237. Join us for a delicious and WARMING soup bar from Soup's On in Mount Vernon. RSVP by Monday, January 27, at noon.
Duckpin Bowling Event Saturday 1/25
Messina has rented out an entire local bowling alley for students to come and learn one of Baltimore's finest traditions, duckpin bowling! Come play and learn what makes this game a little different than regular bowling. Shoes will be provided at the bowling alley as well as all games you can play before they close. We will also be providing pizza and unlimited sodas. Bring your Messina classmates, roommates, friends or come by yourself and meet new friends!
A shuttle bus will pick-up students outside Boulder once at 7:45pm and another at 8:15pm. A bus will take students back to campus at 9:45pm and another at 10:15pm
Students need to register in advance as there is a 80 person capacity limit at the bowling alley. Students will sign-in on the Bridge when boarding the shuttle.
Community Engagement Fair 1/23
If you have students interested in community service or social justice opportunities around Baltimore, please tell them about the community engagement fair on 1/23 in McGuire Hall from 4pm - 6:30pm
Common Text Gallery Panel Discussion
The Julio Fine Arts Gallery is proud to present an Artist Talk & Panel Discussion related to our current exhibition, “Future: Evergreener; From Destruction to Abundance.” The event will take place on Wednesday, February 5th, starting at 6:30PM in McManus Theatre. The panel is an opportunity to connect themes from the Messina common text, Not Too Late, with the exhibiting artists and their work. A moderated discussion between the artists and Loyola students who took part in curating Future: Evergreener, will feature a deeper dive into the artists' work, process, and connections to the themes of climate change, hope, and urgency. The discussion will be followed by a small reception in the gallery.
Students can register events through The Bridge (links below). View the Calendar tab of the Messina website for a complete list of events for the semester.
