Updates & Reminders
1. The last day for scheduled trips or activities with your groupis Monday, April 28th. Please share with your working group and plan effectively.
2. Please submit your budget requests as you go throughout the semester. Please don't wait and overwhelm our Moesha on the May 8th budget deadline.

Ever miss a newsletter? Couldn't catch the live update? Messina now has a complete archive of all 2024-2025 live updates and past newsletters under one roof. This can be accessed through the above link or found through the enrichment resources tab on our website.
4. Class of 2028: Declaration of Major Process
AASC opened up the declaration of major process for Class of 2028 on Monday. As a reminder, all students must officially declare their major, even if they indicated an intended major in the past.
Students who are ready to officially declare their major can fill out the Declaration of Major form (they have been emailed a fillable copy already) and then receive their Messina advisor's signature on the form (or email approval). Students should then bring the form to AASC in MH138.
Students who are not ready to officially declare their major may request an exploratory advisor to work with them in the third semester. This exploratory advisor will help students consider their strengths and interests, possible majors, and connect them with appropriate resources on campus that can assist with the discernment process. Students who would like to request an exploratory advisor should follow the instructions provided in the email on Monday.
All students will continue to work with their Messina advisors through the end of the spring semester. In the summer, AASC will email students the name of their major or exploratory advisor who will work with them in the future.

Pep Rally 4/8
Join Messina and Residence Life for a night of fun and competition as we cheer on our Men's Lacrosse team as they face Towson University. Join us at 4pm for a pep rally in Bowman Hall's Lobby where we will have food, games, poster making, and giveaways you can use to cheer on our athletes at the game. The game is at Towson so the bus will depart from Boulder promptly at 5:15pm after the pep rally ends. Tickets have been paid for and return transportation is included.
Please wear Loyola gear as our small but mighty cheering section needs to be seen and heard!
Please note registering for this event commits you to BOTH the pep rally and lacrosse game so only register if you can attend both.
Akeelah & The Bee 4/11
Come see a childhood favorite movie in play-form at Loyola's former home (all the way back to the 1850s!) Play synopsis for those who have never seen the movie: Akeelah has a passion for words, the crazier the better! Under-challenged at school and overwhelmed by her daily life in a tough, Chicago neighborhood, Akeelah is finding it difficult to try. But with the Scripps National Spelling Bee just around the corner, her community is ready to show her she has the courage and tenacity to make her dream come true.
**Chosen showtime offers an ASL intrepreter.**
Registration assures you a seat on the bus and in the theater. To ensure a seat, students should register for Akeelah and the Bee ahead of time on The Bridge.
Backpacking and Rock Climbing Trip
We are so excited to tell you that registration is open for our 2025 Discovery Backpacking and Rock Climbing trip through OAE!
Discovery is a 5-day discernment-focused outdoor trip, that encourages students to challenge by choice, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves all while backpacking and climbing.
Our trip is running May 10th-May 14th.
All food, gear and transportation is included and no prior experience is required. Beginners are welcome!
