Action Items

  • MENTORS: Please submit your Enrichment Session Plans via Qualtrics by Thursday, September 19th. Even if your enrichment plan is not fully finalized by this date, we still ask that groups submit by the deadline in order to assist Messina in our planning for the semester.  

  • FACULTY: Please submit your Messina Course Syllabus via Qualtrics as well by Thursday, September 19th.

Updates & Reminders

  1. Need something from the August Workshop?

    All presentations, handouts, slides, etc. from last Tuesday's workshop including details for the new budget process can be found in the Working Group Teams under 2024-2025 Resources or by clicking here

  2. Note about a common WorkDay Error Message for P-Card/ Reimbursements 
    If you are trying to submit an expense report for a p-card charge or a reimbursement, and you receive the following message: “Expense Report Worker Payment Election is Missing.” This error message indicates that you need to add direct deposit information in order for the Expense Report to be processed. Even if you already have direct deposit set up for your regular paycheck, WorkDay separates reimbursement direct deposit into a different category. You will only need to do this the first time you submit a report, and it is still required to be set up even if no payment is going directly to you (such as with a P-card expense). To resolve this error: 
    -Click on Menu in the upper left corner of WorkDay and then select Pay.   
    -Under Actions select Payment Elections.  
    -Scroll to the bottom, and where it says "Expense Payments" you can add your payment information, which should resolve the error. 

  3. September's Live Update Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25th from 11:00am to 12:00pm. Please see your calendar invite from Barbara for the Zoom Link.
     
  4. September's Lunch & Learn

    Please join us to talk more about helping our Messina groups manage conflict during the election year and beyond. We began the conversation with Jessy Molina at the August workshop. Let's share how things are going so far, talk through any issues you may have already experienced, and do some more practice with scenarios. RSVP by September 12 so we order enough food for everyone! This one will be on Monday, 9/16 at 12pm in Fernandez 333. Lunch and learns are open to mentors, faculty, and Evergreens

  5. Need transportation to your Messina class outing?

    A reminder that all budget and transportation requests still must be submitted via the Logistical Request Form. Please revisit the slides from the August workshop regarding Messina budgets and Workday changes when submitting your first few requests.

    Please still allow approximately 3 days notice for budget requests. Please allow approximately 30 days notice for transportation requests. Contact Patrick Murnane at pmurnane@loyola.edu if you have a trip idea that's less than 30 days out prior to submitting, 
     
  6. Register now to be an Approved Motor-pool driver
    During the academic year, members of the working group may want to request to drive Loyola Motor-pool vehicles. To obtain driver clearance, you must first register by going to the following webpage: https://loyola.agilefleet.com/_UserRegistration.asp.

    If you already have a Agile Fleet Commander Profile, we encourage you to login and re-sign/renew the user agreement form and policies. We recommend working group members register or confirm previous registration before the start of the fall semester to ensure that you are approved to drive motor-pool vehicles before you place a Messina request. It can take up to 7 days to renew your registration.

    Once you are registered with motor pool you can submit a Messina Logistical Request Form to reserve your motor-pool cars (and charter buses).

  • Thursday, September 19: Enrichment schedule submission via Qualtrics (submitted by mentor)
  • Thursday, September 19: Messina syllabus submission via Qualtrics (submitted by faculty)
  • Friday, October 18: Midterm grades due by 3:00 p.m.
  • November 13 & 14: Registration for Spring 2025 semester (Class of 2028)
  • Monday, December 2: Course Withdrawal Period ends for Fall Semester; last day to withdraw from a course with a grade of W
  • Thursday, December 12: Enrichment audit due (submitted by mentor)
