Join us for a movie night! Complete with popcorn, candy, and an opportunity. Becoming Bulletproof is a film about individuals with disabilities and able-bodied individuals who work together to make a movie. A film that will introduce you to a pretty amazing cast of individuals. A.J., the main character (who has cerebral palsy), clearly expresses what life is like with a disability—mainly through the lens of ability—and what he wishes to do with his life. His dreams mirror the dreams of people you know. The movie helps to create connections with people with disabilities as people with abilities, hopes, and aspirations "just like everybody else" (Tara Lilly, One Question panel). This movie focuses on dignity and inclusion. Its message can apply to all human beings. A.J. Murray, one of the lead actors in the film, will be joining us for conversation via zoom after the movie. You don't want to miss this.
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
Feeling anxious about the upcoming election? You’re not alone. Join our Cura Conversation dialogue space on Friday, October 25th at 12-1:30pm to connect with a supportive community as we all navigate election-related stress. Through reflection and guided conversation, we’ll explore strategies for managing anxiety while staying true to your values. Discover how to channel your emotions into meaningful, values-aligned action that makes a difference. Let’s transform uncertainty into empowerment, together.
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
We know that a great deal of harm often happens unintentionally. Join us as we engage in a thought-provoking discussion about the complex relationship between intention and impact in addressing racial harm. Through guided reflection prompts, we'll delve into the challenges of bridging this gap and explore strategies for fostering a community of belonging at Loyola through open dialogue, accountability, and meaningful change!
11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Join us as we celebrate the diversity and Latinx Community here at Loyola during Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 -October 15) in collaboration with ALAS.
5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Loyola is sponsoring free shuttles and a free screening of this documentary that follows residents of the downtown Baltimore section on Rosebank Avenue on their daily lives, both their struggles and joys. Their stories are told in conjunction with the Baltimore Police's stories as they connect with neighbors in the area, keeping them safe and trying to maintain professional behaviors. After the movie, Alex Long will address questions and comments from students as they come to see a part of Baltimore that they only read about. Our students will hear about the happy moments and the frustrations of Alex and his neighbors. This event is an opportunity for our students to discern and discover the stereotypes that falsely inform their judgments and to see why community is so important. This event is also a chance for our students to experience our York Road community. There is also ample material available for follow-up discussions in enrichments about systematic injustices that haunt some neighborhoods and find ways to make meaningful changes now and in the future.
Shuttles depart from Boulder and will continuously run on loop to the Senator Theatre and back from 5pm to 7pm and then from 9pm-10pm to shuttle folks back to campus.
6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Join the Loyola community in watching a screening of The Sultan and The Saint, a compelling story about a Christian preacher and Muslim ruler who search for common ground during a period of conflict.
This will be followed by a special conversation with the film’s producer, Jawaad Abdul Rahman from Unity Production Foundation, and the film’s thought-partners from the Franciscan Action network, Sr. Marie Lucey and Sr. Maria Orlandini. Refreshements will be served!
3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Calling all queer and trans BIPOC students! Join us for Donut Go It Alone, an affinity space where you can enjoy donuts, cider, music, and more. Come out and meet other students who share these same identities, as you build community, and connect in a relaxing, safe environment.
7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Join together for an evening of conversation to learn about the robust religious diversity that exists on our campus. If you are looking to strengthen your own religious community and for an opportunity to listen to others from different faith backgrounds this is the place for you. Come be part of the conversation!
Snacks and dessert will be provided.

12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
Join us as we explore the differences between debate and dialogue while gaining insight into effective guidelines for communicating across religious differences and more. Facilitated by the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies (ICJS), this workshop will consist of two main components.
The first part will explore ICJS’ theory of dialogue in depth, delving into how it can foster mutual understanding. In the second part, participants will engage in a thoughtful discussion on the presence of religion in public spaces and the reasons why dismantling bias requires us to learn how to talk about religion and diversity.
3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
