Does the idea of introducing yourself to a complete stranger make you want to curl into a ball? Would an invitation to a company “Networking Social” induce panic?
You are not alone. The Rizzo Career Center’s most socially awkward staff member, Tim Cherney, will break down the basics of networking etiquette, mastering the elevator pitch, and setting up informational interviews so you spend less time fumbling for the right words and more time building personal and professional connections.
Join ODK for an evening of hors d'oeuvres and conversation as we practice the art of meaningful socializing to further your leadership and career goals.
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Come contribute to our word cloud and kick off leadership week with some fall goodies!
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
There is so much more to leadership than the titles, power, and paychecks. There are also the character traits and skills we practice daily, particularly when no one else is watching. Regardless of the seat or position you’re in today, you can still learn and practice three of the core leadership skills consistently used by the most effective and impactful leaders: Care, Courage, and Clarity.
With over twenty years as a social impact communications consultant and a leader in the B Corporation movement, Carrie Fox takes to heart the role—and responsibility—that leaders hold in shaping how stories are told, how decisions are made, and how change happens.
In this engaging and interactive session, the Loyola graduate (Class of 2001) and author of More than Words: Communications Practices of Courageous Leaders, will guide audience members through a series of thoughtful prompts and thought-provoking stories designed to help you become your own positive and powerful agent of change.
