Scholar of the Month
Alexa Junikiewicz '24

In the spirit of recognizing outstanding contributions to our Program, we are delighted to introduce our Scholar of the Month feature. Each month, we spotlight an exceptional individual whose dedication and impact leave an indelible mark on our community.

This February, we honor Senior Scholar Alexa Junikiewicz.

An accounting major from Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, Alexa has taken advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow here at Loyola.

She is Student Body President for the Student Government Association, Career Ambassador in the Rizzo Career Center, and Executive Director of the Loyola Consulting Group.

Alexa also serves as the student representative on the University’s Strategic Planning Steering Committee and will be joining PwC as an Audit Associate after graduation in May.

Celebrating 20 years of Sellinger Scholars

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming milestone that marks the 20th Anniversary of the Sellinger Scholars Program! Over the past two decades, the program has stood as a beacon of academic excellence, fostering the growth and development of bright minds who have gone on to make significant contributions to various fields.

Join us on April 12, 2024, as we kick off the celebration with the Sellinger Scholars Closing Event and Anniversary Kickoff. This special occasion will not only mark the culmination of another successful year but also serve as the starting point for a year-long celebration of the program's legacy and impact.

The Closing Event and Anniversary Kickoff will be a momentous occasion, featuring Kimberly Ellison-Taylor, MBA '96, CEO of KET Solutions LLC, other speakers, reflections, and a glimpse into the exciting initiatives planned for the coming year. It's an opportunity to connect with fellow scholars, alumni, faculty, and supporters who have played a crucial role in the program's success.

As the year unfolds, we invite you to stay tuned for more details as we approach these significant dates. We encourage you to join us in commemorating 20 years of the Sellinger Scholars Program, celebrating the achievements of our scholars, and looking forward to a future filled with continued success and innovation. Learn more about the anniversary on our Instagram (see below) and here: 20th Anniversary Page

A Great Start for Sellinger Scholars

Business Clothing Drive: The Business Clothing Drive successfully gathered used professional attire from the community, providing students with essential wardrobe options for interviews, networking events, and internships. Students generously contributed 168 donations, including suits, blouses, ties, and accessories, fostering a sense of community support within the academic environment.
FMA Internship Panel: The FMA Internship Panel, featuring some Sellinger Scholars, provided valuable insights into finance-related internships. Students engaged in dynamic discussions, gaining advice on the application process, expectations, and skills needed for success. The event served as a networking opportunity, connecting students with industry experts for mentorship beyond the panel discussion.
Mentor and Mentee LinkedIn Workshop with Morgan Stanley: The Mentor and Mentee LinkedIn Workshop, hosted by Morgan Stanley and the Rizzo Career Center, equipped students with practical strategies for optimizing their LinkedIn profiles.
