Assembly Candidates

Ryan Buddenbohn (Fall)

Hello, Class of 2026! My name is Ryan Buddenbohn and I am from Edgewood, Maryland. I am majoring in International Business, and am running for junior class assembly for the 2024 fall semester. As an assembly member, I intend to engage with my peers to bolster school spirit and inspire a greater sense of community at Loyola. I have a strong background in event coordination and idea generation. In 2021, I helped organize a fundraiser at my former parish that generated over $5,000 for our sister parish in Haiti. Alongside this, I have a strong background in Student Government, having been a member throughout both high school and middle school. This background will allow me to draw from prior experience to make the assembly organized and efficient. At Loyola, I am involved with both the French Club and Active Minds Club on campus. If elected to the assembly position, I will work with other assembly members and the whole Student Government to bolster involvement both on and off campus. Looking to get more involved, the assembly position will allow me to engage and interact with the broader Loyola community. Vote for Ryan for the Class of 2026 Assembly for the 2024 fall semester!

Izzy Paiva

Hello fellow greyhounds, I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the Class of 2026 Assembly for the Spring semester, once again. Reflecting on the past year, I am immensely proud of the achievements we've made together. Our dedication to enhancing student engagement has resulted in a series of unforgettable events that have brought us closer than ever before; from bingo nights to Formal’s and Sophomore Specials, each event has seen increased attendance and excitement. Additionally, by managing our social media accounts, I've connected with many of you, highlighting our diverse talents and passions as a class. In the upcoming year, I aim to create even more inclusive spaces on campus and exciting events to foster a stronger sense of community and student engagement. Serving our class has been an honor, and I believe my experience from this past year, fresh ideas, and growing perspective will continue to drive us forward. I humbly ask for your support in the upcoming election as we continue to build a Class of 2026 we can all be proud of! Let izzy paiv-a road for success!

Kate Callahan

Hi, I’m Kate Callahan and I have been serving this past year on the sophomore assembly. I am an elementary education major, with a minor in special education. Additionally, I am a member of SGA, One Love, Best Buddies, Hound Hangout, Education Society, and Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honors Society (ODK). My goal on the Loyola Assembly team is to be a great representative for you, and all things Loyola. I have excellent communication skills and am very organized with both school and my life in general. I enjoy volunteering at fundraisers, local elementary schools, and helping with other events. I believe I will bring a new set of ideas to the table that will make Loyola an amazing place. This past year at the assembly I was able to volunteer at a variety of events. My favorites include; the CCSJ Halloween Block Party, the Turkey Bowl, and Luck o’ Loyola. If I am given the opportunity to serve you (again) as a member of the assembly for the Class of 2026, I want to expand and grow more events for students on campus. Some ideas I have include food trucks, flea markets, and farmer's markets! These will allow students to try new foods, and help local businesses in Baltimore become a fan favorite on campus. I think that these ideas will allow our class to grow together and create an even greater bond. I am very personable, and if you know me I love to talk to anyone and everyone. I want to use my ability, along with the experience I have from my time on SGA this year to ensure that our Junior class achieves its full potential and leaves a long-lasting impact on our school's community. It’s your fate. Vote for Kate!

Cecelia Oliver (Spring)

I want to make sure that every student's voice is heard and that each student feels our assembly's impact on campus. Whether it is event planning, student surveys, or simply a conversation with a member of SGA, students should feel valued and represented. With my position on class assembly, I will be an advocate for students' wants and needs. I plan to be a student leader that is not only friendly and approachable, but also persistent and reliable. Students will be able to come to me with their ideas, inputs, and criticisms without feeling dismissed or judged. When you place your vote, I want you to feel confident that you are voting for a representative who represents YOU and what YOU want to see on campus; I intend to be this person.

Lars Bjork

Hey everyone, I am Lars Bjork, and I am running to be on the SGA Assembly for the 2024-2025 academic year for the class of 2026. I come from Takoma Park, Maryland, which is next to the border of Maryland and Washington D.C., and I am a Political Science Major here at Loyola. I also was a part of the Student Leadership Corps, a group for sophomores only which focuses on improving leadership skills. I love running, watching football and basketball, going to eat at restaurants, and I especially love playing with dogs. I am running for SGA because I want to be a new voice and leader for our community. Occasionally, there should be newer people who have a say in SGA, because we get more opinions and more ideas that we can come up with for our students to have the best possible time at Loyola. There are two main goals I have if I am elected. First, I want to expand on the number of on-campus events, while keeping and maintaining the great events that our SGA has already given us, like the first year and sophomore formal, and, of course, Loyolapalooza. Secondly, I will do as much as I can to make students feel safe and welcome. I hope that we, as Loyola students, can help each other out, have respect for each other, and make each other feel safe. Thank you for considering me as a new SGA Assembly member for the class of 2026!

Lindsay Dyer

My name is Lindsay Dyer and I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the class of 2026 assembly at our evergreen campus. With my deep commitment to a voice for our student body, I hope to serve as a bridge between you and our administration, ensuring that all ideas, concerns, and aspirations are heard and valued. I am committed to collaboration and action, and with your support I will dedicate myself towards planning our collective future. Together we can help build a more connected, and empowered student community at Loyola. I am excited to bring visions to life! Your vote is not just for me, but for our shared commitment to making our college experience the best it can be! I am asking for your support and vote in the upcoming election. Thank you!

Ryan O’ Keefe

As a prospective SGA assembly candidate for Loyola's class of 2026, I am excited and grateful to have the chance to give back to our school community. As the son of a Loyola graduate, I have grown up hearing many stories about how special of a place Loyola is, and I have come to experience this for myself over our last two years here. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be here in a place that I am proud to call home, and I am passionate about serving this community in order to help others share that same feeling. As your SGA assembly candidate, I will be dedicated to the betterment of our school and the relationships we have with each other, and with the surrounding Baltimore community. I consider the ways in which I can build connections with and help make the lives better for people in our Loyola community my top priority, and by being elected as an SGA assembly member, I will continue to put this into action. It would be an honor to serve on the SGA, and I thank you for your consideration.

Senate Candidates

Claire O’ Brien (Fall)

Hi everyone!!! My name is Clare O’Brien, and I’m running for the Class of 2026 Senate (Fall). I am an Interdisciplinary Major for Psychology and Sociology, with a Minor in Forensic Studies. I currently live in Florida but have also lived in many states, and even overseas in Costa Rica, Peru and Uganda. All of these educational and life experiences have forced me to become adaptable and understanding of others. In this way, I hope to use my position in Senate to advocate for other’s needs within the Loyola student body and beyond. I am specifically interested in this position as I would love to continue getting involved, advocating for others, building relationships and listening to students’ concerns. If elected, my goals would include determining student issues, representing their needs and communicating effectively with them! As a result, I plan to directly work within policy and advocacy, striving for a positive change, club appropriations and even representing students regarding parking tickets. I am reliable, approachable, open to criticism, responsible, committed, and passionate. I am determined to make this next Fall Semester one full of memories, building a better Loyola community!

Sophia Graney (Spring)

Hello everyone! My name is Sophia Graney and I’m running to be a Senate Representative for the Class of 2026 for the Spring 2025 semester! I’ve already had the honor of holding other SGA positions such as being on Assembly, and being the Associate Director of Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Education. With your vote, I promise to continue with my SGA journey with as much energy and tenacity as I have the last two years. I want to work to make SGA more organized internally. This internal organization will feed back out into the rest of the student body making it easier to participate and get involved. Beyond that, to assist the student body directly, I want to ensure all clubs are able to seek appropriations and funding and have the opportunity to have the most successful events possible. As well as that, I want to support and assist students trying to appeal their parking tickets. Overall, I want to work with and for the student body, being a voice and a person “on the inside” to help spread information, as well as connecting everyone together through policy and agency!

Will Kwietniak (Spring)

If elected, my goals would center around the student experience and giving back to the student body in any ways possible. My focus would center around the improvement of parking and shuttle transportation, as well as financially reforming the Student Government Association, to better help students and administration alike. Beyond this, through my experience working with administration, I will work to bring down parking fees, better schedule shuttles, and overall make the student experience at Loyola better through smart distribution appropriations to clubs, assistance in bringing financial independence to students, and social opportunities through funding.

Gabriel Gómez (Spring)

Hey Greyhounds! My name is Gabriel Gómez, and I am excited to be running for Senate for Class of 2026 in the Spring Semester. Previously, I was an executive board member for the Association Of Latin American Students (ALAS) where I held the position of Co-Event Coordinator where I helped plan and execute multiple GBM’s and Latin Fest last semester. I am also a Marketing Assistant for Strategic Gameday Marketing in the Athletics Department while also working as a Social Media Consultant for the Karson Institute For Race, Peace, and Social Justice. As a member of the Senate, my mission is to advocate for the needs of the student body. I intend on supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives by helping provide more appropriations to clubs and groups on campus that are focusing on these issues. Additionally, I intend on helping students navigate appeals for parking tickets to ensure that they are handled in a reasonable and responsible manner. Lastly, I intend on working closely with the Class of 2026 leadership to ensure the students in our class year are heard and that their interests and concerns are met with real action and thoughtful follow through.
