Assembly

Yukesh Aryal

Hello everyone, I'm Yukesh Aryal, an international student from Nepal, and I'm excited to run for the Student Government Association (SGA). As someone who's experienced the challenges of adapting to a new environment, I understand the importance of inclusivity and collaboration. My goal is to create a more connected campus community where everyone feels at home. To achieve this, I plan to establish open feedback channels, allowing you to share your thoughts and ideas freely. I'm also passionate about promoting sustainable practices that benefit our campus and the environment. Additionally, I want to celebrate our diverse cultures by advocating exchange programs that bring us closer together. Supporting student organizations is another priority of mine; I believe they are the heartbeat of our campus, and I want to provide them with the resources they need to flourish. I believe in listening to your concerns and working together to create a campus where everyone feels valued and empowered. Whether it's improving student life, enhancing academic support, or simply making our campus a more enjoyable place to be, I'm committed to being a leader who truly represents your voice. I'd be grateful for your support in this journey!

Gabriela Lopez

Hey hounds, my name is Gaby Lopez and I am proudly running for re-election for the Class of 2028 Assembly! I am from Montgomery County Maryland, currently majoring in Political Science. I love listening to music, playing sports and spending quality time with friends & family. I have grown so much as a leader this past year on SGA; being able to interact with our class year has made me a better active listener and successful advocate. My hope is to be re-elected as an Assemblywoman with the goal of creating engaging, interactive events for all. I will work diligently to ensure that student input is prioritized and that no idea is left unexplored. Your thoughts are crucial to building up friendship and community within our class, being key to achieving great events. I promise to bring awareness to any and all resources on Campus with the intention of always keeping you “in the know.” 2028, you are such a wonderful class filled with brightness and spirit, I hope that with my re-election I can continue serving you, always aiming to cultivate your interests.

Dilshi Fernando

Hey Class of 2028! My name is Dilshi Fernando. I am originally from Sri Lanka, born and raised in Zimbabwe, and currently commuting from Baltimore City. Through my experience on the SGA Marketing Committee, I gained valuable insight into how to connect the student body with SGA. This time, as a candidate, I hope to have the opportunity to actively amplify the voices of our student body by working closely with our class president and the SGA team to organize engaging initiatives that bring us together. Additionally, as a commuter and First-Generation student, I am passionate about advocating for events that are more interactive, enjoyable, and most importantly, inclusive. My goals, if elected, are rooted in enhancing the student experience here on our Evergreen Campus. I aim to promote transparency and communication between students and SGA, ensuring everyone’s ideas are heard, considered, and valued. Of course, I will also prioritize designing and planning class merchandise and activities tailored to the interests and needs of our classmates. With a strong drive for teamwork and innovative ideas, I am more than ready to bring our class’s vision to life and make our sophomore year truly unforgettable!

Julia Murray

As mentioned, my name is Julia Murray, and I am running for Class Assembly. I am currently double majoring in Leadership and Management Consulting and Marketing. I am passionate about providing opportunities to foster community and create memories. If elected, I will take initiative to act as a bridge between the class of 2028 and the SGA board. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all of you over the course of this year, and my hope is that I can continue to build relationships with each of you. Loyola has become my home in the short time I’ve been a part of this community. This is because I got involved in organizations like Sellinger Scholars, Club Swimming, One Love, Sustainability Club, CCSJ, OAE, Women in Business Club, HAP, Leading Women of Tomorrow, Love For Our Elders, and Relay for Life. My goal in running for Student Government is to help make opportunities for people to get involved and find the same sense of belonging that I’ve found on our evergreen campus.

Sam Morrison

My name is Sam Morrison, and I am a first-year student majoring in finance with a minor in supply chain management. With eight years of Jesuit education, I am open to growth, intellectually ambitious, and committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and justice. I am running for SGA assembly because I am passionate about making our campus a better place for all students. I believe our voices deserve to be heard, and I want to advocate for real change. My goal is to create a more inclusive, supportive, and engaging university experience. If elected, I will focus on improving student resources, increasing transparency between students and administration, and expanding opportunities for involvement. I want students to feel connected to their representatives, which is why I will be accessible to those who wish to advocate for initiatives and events that enhance student life. When it comes to our class budget, transparency is key. I plan to implement surveys and polls so students can have a direct say in how funds are allocated. As an SGA assembly member, I will ensure students play a greater role in shaping the initiatives and events that matter most to them. I look forward to the opportunity to represent you and make a lasting impact on our campus!

Senate

Gwendolyn Acle

Dear fellow students, My name is Gwen Acle, and I am running for a position on the Student Government Senate to represent you and your ideas. I am currently majoring in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences and English, which has not only allowed me to develop strong communication skills but has also fueled my passion for advocacy and helping others. Through my experiences volunteering at York Road Community Days and Admitted Student Days, I have gained hands-on experience working with diverse groups of people, collaborating to make our community stronger, and learning the importance of listening to everyone’s voice. This volunteer work has helped me understand the value of service and giving back to our community, qualities I want to bring to the Senate. Additionally, my time as a member of the Evergreen Annual Yearbook team has further sharpened my organizational and leadership skills. I’ve learned how to work effectively with others, meet deadlines, and bring creative ideas to life—all while maintaining a strong focus on teamwork and inclusivity. I am committed to making sure every voice is heard and to creating a campus where all students feel supported. I would be honored to represent you in the Student Government Senate, working hard to make our college experience the best it can be. Thank you for your support! Sincerely, Gwendolyn Acle

Luke Neilan

Hello everyone from the 2028 class, My name is Luke Neilan, and I am honored to have served as one of your senators for our freshman year, but now it's time to run it back. I am running for re-election because the job is not done at Loyola and I am only just getting started. If I am elected to another term as senator, I will ensure that every member of the 2028 class has a voice on this campus and an opportunity to pursue their goals in a manner that suits them. The key thing I want to change is the SGA By-Laws to make it easier for everyone on SGA to actually help the students of Loyola. I also want to help with initiatives to bring our class closer together and to provide fun events every weekend of the upcoming fall and spring semester of our sophomore year so that way it is as enjoyable as our freshman year. I hope you all consider voting for my re-election campaign, thank you very much.
