Club Appropriations

  • Overview

    The Student Government Association budget is responsible for the funding of many of Loyola's clubs and organizations. As a club representative, you can find the information on funding and the appropriations process for requesting funds located below. Before requesting funds, please look over the Finance Committee By-Laws (Article IX) and familiarize yourself and the club with the process.

    Additionally, one club representative must attend Club Kickoff at the beginning of the year. If you do not attend, you must arrange for a meeting with our Program Coordinator for Student Engagement, Erin Misiorek, who oversees clubs and organizations and will be happy to present the information.

  • Requirements

    You must use this Appropriations Request Form for your proposal. The form must be completed in its entirety for consideration. It will include the following questions:

    • Name of Club/Organization
    • Name of Event
    • Date of Event
    • Best estimate of expected number of attendees
    • Amount of Funds Requested
    • Other sources of secured and expected funding (student contribution is well-regarded and essential for Conference requests)
    • Description of the Event
    • Itemized budget detailing event expenditures (use this template)
    • Expected benefits of this event for students
    • If funding is for a conference, state how the University community will share in the student educational experience
    • If funding is for a food/beverage, state how the event and club/organization will benefit from the University community will share in the student education experience

    The form must be completed in its entirety with an itemized budget attached to be considered for appropriations.

  • Timeline

    The SGA Senate Finance Committee meets every Tuesday evening. The Appropriation Request Form must be submitted the prior Monday by 11:59pm in order to be reviewed at Tuesday's meeting. Due to large volumes of submissions, the committee may not get to every request in a given week. It is recommended to submit the request 3-4 weeks prior to an event's scheduled date. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee your club will have the requested materials.
